Can anybody help me clarify this phrase?

The context is all the powers granted to a corporate counsel through a power-of-attorney:

"...request attachments prior to judgment and final attachments, as well as prohibitions to dispose of or encumber goods, and that any such order be lifted; appeal; claim the invalidity and simulation of an act; settle pending issues or issues that may arise, and **compromise deeds**; act in mediation proceedings..."
