Spanish term

pulsos dramáticos

Spanish to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama scripts
I'm translating a script which keeps refering to "pulsos dramáticos". Are these dramatic episodes or parts of the script or is there a more specific film term? I haven't been able to find any answers so far.

Thanks

Thanks. Yeah, Tara's offering fits well I think.
Lucy Williams (asker) Mar 30, 2010:
context: CON LOS PULSOS DRAMÁTICOS DE XXX, YYY Y SUS AMIGOS MÁS DESARROLLADOS
luego....
Este pulso dramático debería quedar abierto. ¿Qué harán? ¿Cómo saldrán de ésta?
Juan Vilca Mar 30, 2010:
A little more context please; if you include a full sentence or how it appears in the script it will be a bit clearer

Really? I'm a bit skeptical of Wikipedia, but in this case it's accurate.

dramatic pulses / moments of dramatic pulse

these are what keep the story "moving along" and hold the audience's attention

Scott's version isn't the full text, but the abridgements, to my mind, only highlight the dramatic pulses of this riveting play.

Spreading out the dramatic pulse between a cast of characters dilutes the flow. Sure you can get away with it in long forms like novels, but you want the rhythm of a short story to be as tight as can be.
