Hi, Which of these word counters do you recommend the most, Practicount or Anycount? Thanks
I would recommend having several counters It is a usual case when Anycount does not recognize some formats, while other applications do. I use Finecount and Anycount. BTW, Finecount has a free version (with limited options)
I've tried others, but I think Practicount is the best. Sure, you pay something for it, but it's worth it. Catherine | | | PractiCount & Invoice (Enterprise) | Mar 21, 2012 |
I vote for PractiCount & Invoice (Enterprise) very useful.

Practicount is generally better (more configuration options, languages, etc.), but it is buggy and is no longer developed from what I have observed. I bought a licence back in 2008 for nearly 120 USD with the lifetime option. My guess is that whoever was actively developing the software has died or run out of business and his surviving relatives / associates are trying to squeeze every last buck out of it. Be ware! Anycount is still actively developed and improved by a great software team, but it has failed to take the torch from the hands of its dying rival – for the past 4 years. It is difficult to understand why. It still lacks configuration options, etc. ▲ Collapse | | | New version of AnyCount released | Aug 16, 2012 |

Anycount and Virtual Machines | Aug 24, 2012 |
Can the new version of Anycount now be installed in Virtual Machines? I used Anycount 6 on my Windows computer some years ago and then unsuccessfully tried installing it in my Windows Virtual Machine on my Mac notebook. As Anycount is apparantly designed so that it cannot be installed in Virtual Machines, I opted for Practicount instead which does not have this limitation.
