I had exactly the same experience, took the computer to a computer repair shop, and was told that the bulb had burned out in the screen. the repair was not cheap, but cheaper than a new screen. You may want to visit a professional.

Memory sticks have very little to do with video. Try to remember what could change since it was ok (new hardware, UPS failure, cold restart etc)
1) does your monitor show any warning when detached from the videocard (PC)? 2) are your monitor settings (darkness/ contrast) etc ok? (try OSD) 3) does periodic pressing F8 when bootup show any menu? 4) is your videocard powered on and working alright? . . .

Shortly, try to exclude an element: check your monitor with other 100% working PC or attach a working monitor to your PC. ▲ Collapse
