» Navigating the similarities between Azerbaijani and Turkish
By Giulbas Kazimova | Published 06/21/2024 | Translation Theory | Recommendation:RateSecARateSecIRateSecIRateSecIRateSecI
The article examines the difficulties encountered in communication between Azerbaijani and Turkish languages due to their close linguistic relationship. While these Turkic languages are largely mutually intelligible, they exhibit distinct characteristics shaped by different cultural and linguistic influences. The similarity of these languages can lead to confusion in translation and interpretation, particularly in formal contexts where precision is crucial. Translators must be aware of the subtle differences in connotations and cultural references in order to avoid misunderstandings. The article underscores the significance of enhancing awareness about the distinctive characteristics differentiating these languages and urges the implementation of educational initiatives and collaborative endeavors to enhance communication between speakers of Azerbaijani and Turkish.
