Il carattere locale dell’informazione ottenibile con tecniche spettroscopiche mette in evidenza aspetti strutturali difficilmente integrabili nel modello RUMs. La spettroscopia di assorbimento di raggi X è una tecnica sensibile all’intorno locale di una determinata specie atomica (atomo assorbitore). Da misure EXAFS si ottengono informazioni sulla distribuzione media delle distanze interatomiche ( = ), mentre la diffrazione (riflessi di Bragg) fornisce la distanza tra le posizioni atomiche medie (R = |< r1 > - < r2 >|).
Translation - English Extended X-Ray Absorption Fine Structure (EXAFS) has recently been used to study the local atomic dynamics underlying NTE in highly symmetrical systems (Cu2O, Ag2O and CuCl) [1,2]. The local character of the information which is obtainable using spectroscopic techniques highlights those structural aspects which can only be integrated within the RUMs model with difficulty. X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy is a technique which is sensitive to the local structure around a specific atomic type (atom absorber). By using EXAFS measurements, information can be obtained about the mean distribution of the interatomic distances ( = ), while the diffraction measurements (Bragg reflections) supply the distance between the mean atomic positions (R = |< r1 > - < r2 >|).
