A native
British English speaker, I started my working life in the engineering industry,
working on lathes and milling machines and basic welding.

The change
came when I visited France in 1975 and decided to stay. Finding work and
learning to speak French was a handicap at first but soon overcome with the
help of friends, work, and a passage at the Alliance Française. As time went
by, I was called upon ever more to translate and interpret

 in-house for the foreign and English-speaking
clients in the companies I worked for. Translating user manuals for consumer
electronic products: televisions, VHS recorders, audio amplifiers for their
personnel use.

In my last employment,
I filled the role of an in-house translator/interpret for English speaking
foreign clients and educational visits as well as translating internal
documents and texts.

I am active
in several different fields, engineering, electronics, tourism, and I am open
to work in other areas. I can provide concise translations or more open flowing
translations depending on the requirements of my clients. Primordial is the
respect of deadlines, not forgetting that they also have their own deadlines to
honour.

Over the years, French has become an equal native language on par with English.
