I was born in Cyprus. My family emigrated to Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) when I was 18 months old. My mother tongue (and home tongue) is Greek. Having lived in Zimbabwe from such an early age, I obviously became very comfortable (and proficient) with regard to the English language and, should someone enquire as to which languages I speak, write and read, my answer is both English and Greek (Freudian slip neither intended nor required). After completing my A-levels at Churchill Boys' High School in Harare (then Salisbury), I attended the University of Bradford (UK) and graduated with an MSc in Sociology and Industrial Psychology. Upon graduation, I lectured in Sociology at the Polytechnic of Newcastle-upon-Tyne before returning to Zimbabwe to take up a number of positions in HRM and Training. Thereafter, I owned and managed my own business outlets, ranging from short-term insurance, real estate and property management and a fast foods/catering/restaurant outlet. Together with my family (wife and 2 children) I left for Cyprus in 2007 where I was employed as HR and Admin Manager for 8 years. Since 2014 my wife and I live in Postel, Belgium, owning and managing a retail outlet specialising exclusively in a variety of products produced by the local abbey, ranging from a proprietary bread range, cheeses, other dairy products as well as a comprehensive range of branded herbal products.
