My passion for languages, and particularly the English language, is my true driving force. This insatiable interest was triggered by the lifting of the ‘Iron Curtain’ and the exposure to the West that came with it. I pursued this calling professionally by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Linguistics (with specialization in English and German) from Minsk State Linguistics University, and simultaneously working as a translator for one of the biggest charitable organizations in Belarus called “Children in Trouble”. There, not only did I learn how to translate complicated medical and technical texts, but also through perseverance and belief in what I was doing I contributed to the growth of the Charity, and as a result to more children having a chance to survive and successfully rehabilitate from cancer.

In the course of my rather diverse career I have been involved in a number of translation projects. As a result, I have discovered that even though I might not know everything about medicine, or law, or engineering, there are always industry specialists who are willing to share their experience and knowledge, or, with the advancement of technology, there is a plethora of online materials to guide me in my search of missing information.

All in all, regardless of what project I am involved in, I strive for efficient, effective and high quality performance in myself and the team. I like to take initiative to make improvements wherever it is applicable or possible. Adversity, diversity and multiplicity inspire me professionally and personally.
