question about translation memory with SDL Trados Studio 2011 Thread poster: Jean-Paul ROSETO

Hello. My question concerns SDL Trados Studio 2011. I have opened a document and imported a TM (translation memory). My problem is that when I translate sentences in "editor" and when I do "concordance search" I don't find what I have translated previously in that document. Can someone tell me why? thanks I can use the TM imported, already translated by somebody else but I don't see what I have translated in the memory.

In TS2009 if you press the key F3, the concordance window is opened but for some strange reason it opens target text search. Select source and concordance will be found... | | | Jean-Paul ROSETO Local time: 01:06 Member (2004) Italian to French + ... TOPIC STARTER "apply translation" key disabled | Jul 18, 2012 |
when translating with studio 2011, being in editor, when I search into "concordance matches" what I have translated, I don't see it. Is it normal? also the "Apply translation" key is disabled. What can I do to activate it? thanks | | | Have you added your TM? | Jul 18, 2012 |

Are you sure you assigned a translation memory to your project? What does the Translation Memory pane say? "No matches found", or "No translation memory opened"? also the "Apply translation" key is disabled. What can I do to activate it? thanks See my reply in your other topic on this.

If you look at the right-hand part of the dialog box, all checkfields next to the name of the translation memory should be checked.
Also try Ctrl+F3 instead of F3. For some reason that, as I vaguely remember, was explained somewhere here, it can give better results. | | | Jean-Paul ROSETO Local time: 01:06 Member (2004) Italian to French + ... TOPIC STARTER I have found how to record my translations into my TM (translation memory) | Jul 25, 2012 |
I have found the solution at my problem. When I notice that after translating a sentence, my translation is not recorded into my TM (Translation Memory), I do "Project setting" and even if I notice that under "name", my TM is ticked, I click on the TM and remove it clicking "remove". Then, I add it again clicking "add" and select it. After having done all of that, I notice that my translations are recorder into my TM.
