Alle Parameter wurden in der Literatur zur Diagnostik, zur Beschreibung des Ausmaßes einer Stimmstörung sowie zur Beurteilung von Therapieeffekten empfohlen (Carding et al. 2009; Dejonckere 2001; Mehta 2008). In der jüngsten Leitlinie der ASHA wurden nur die
spektralbasierten Parameter CPP oder CPPS empfohlen, da diese Indizes auch bei stark dysphonen Stimmen zuverlässige Messergebnisse angeben (Patel et al. 2018). Klinisch anwendbare störungsbildspezifische Normwerte sind bis heute noch nicht zu Jitter, Shimmer, **HNR**, CPP oder CPPS vorhanden. Normwerte für gesunde und pathologische Stimmen sind zudem abhängig von der jeweils verwendeten Software (Brockmann-Bauser und Bohlender, 2014; Carding et al. 2009; Mehta, 2008; Patel et al. 2018).

Irregularitätsparameter wie Jitter und Shimmer sowie spektrale Parameter wie Smoothed Cepstral Peak Prominence (CPPS) werden von der habituellen Sprechlautstärke und Sprechstimmlage beeinflusst. Bei hörbar heiseren Stimmen mit hohem Geräuschanteil ist
die Messgenauigkeit insbesondere für Irregularitätsparameter geringer, je ausgeprägter die hörbare Dysphonie ist. Beides gilt auch für kombinierte akustische Parameter, welche eine oder mehrere dieser Messgrössen mit einbeziehen. Aufgrund dessen müssen
Messergebnisse immer im Zusammenhang mit anderen Untersuchungsergebnissen interpretiert werden. Zudem sollte angegeben werden, bei welcher Sprechlautstärke die Parameter gemessen wurden, um Ergebnisse vergleichen zu können (Brockmann-Bauser et al. 2018; Brockmann-Bauser et al. 2021; Patel et al. 2018; Sampaio et al. 2021; Sampaio et al. 2020).
