Deutsch term

Geschossflächenzahl (GFZ) vs. Grundflächenzahl (GRZ)

Deutsch > Englisch Technik Immobilien/Grundstücke
Although I have found a precise German description on abbkuerzungen.de, I don't know how to distinguish between them in English.

GFZ GeschossflächenzahlBei Bebauung: Summe der Geschossflächen dividiert durch Grundfläche

GRZ GrundflächenzahlBei einer Bebauung der Anteil der bebauten Fläche von der Gesamtfläche

For GRZ I find floor area ratio (FAR) but I find the same explanation for GFZ.
Proposed translations (Englisch)
3 +4 floor space index vs. plot ratio

Discussion

Kim Metzger Feb 26, 2018:
nocciola When you close the question, just enter Geschossflächenzahl (GFZ) – plot ratio
Grundflächenzahl (GRZ) – site coverage index as the glossary answers
nocciola (asker) Feb 26, 2018:
Correction Dear Kim, could you therefore amend (propose the new) translation so that I can choose it and enter it correctly in the Glossary? Thank you so much!
nocciola (asker) Feb 25, 2018:
What's the context? They occur on 3 data sheets about commercial space for rent.
philgoddard Feb 25, 2018:
What's the context? Do these terms occur repeatedly, in other words do you need to coin a shorthand term for them, or could you just use literal translations of your dictionary definitions?

I stand corrected. According to the dictionary published by alec_in_France, Geschossflächenzahl (GFZ) – plot ratio (UK), floor to area ratio (US)
Grundflächenzahl (GRZ) – site coverage index

disagree alec_in_France : GFZ (Geschossflächenzahl) is the BGF (gross external area) of the building as a % (decimal) of site area, i.e. the plot ratio (GB) or floor area ratio. GRZ is the site coverage index - the % of the site (decimal) covered by bldngs: IZ Real Estate Dict.

Thanks. According to your dictionary, GFZ is plot ratio and GRZ is site coverage index.
