"When compressing the disc stack, make sure that the arresting piece of the bowl bottom snaps into the groove of the bowl top and that the bowl top does not become twisted when lowered. If, on account of the spring excursion of a new disk stack, the locking devices do not interlock, the disk stack must first be pre-compressed with fewer disks."

They are disk-shaped parts in the separator bowl.
