Here you have both word orders in the same sentence:
La sospensione del trattamento può portare ad uno slittamento dell’accrescimento della cartilagine del
femore. Una possibile causa potrebbe essere una debolezza della cartilagine di accrescimento a causa
di una minore concentrazione di ormoni sessuali femminili durante il trattamento.
Could the first be wrong? Does the sentence make sense to a doctor?
Because here it is associated with a process (accrescimento), delay would seem more likely.
On the other hand, "accrescimento" may be in the wrong place, and they may be referring to epiphysiolysis (so cartilagine di accrescimento).
If this is the case, then slittamento refers to place (slippage), as Liz has pointed out, and "Slipped capital femoral epiphysis" is acited as an adverse effect of discontinuing the drug leuprorelin
