Spanish term

bachiller en PERU

Spanish to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Bachiller
En Perú brindan dos documentos al finalizar la carrera universitaria, primero el bachiller y luego la licenciatura .

¿Cómo traducir un diploma de bachiller en administracion al inglés? ¿ existe un equivalente o cual seria la forma adecuada de traducirlo?

@Sofy: This is Perú https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/certificates-d... The wording of your text is a bit confusing, i.e. " la carrera universitaria, primero el bachiller y luego la licenciatura" as "bachiller" is normally a high school diploma. Herein lies the rub! Then for "licenciatura", the glossary https://www.proz.com/search/"licenciatura" has many entries, but it is safe to say that "licenciate degree" is the more usual translation nowadays, and backed up by very solid professionals. https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/education-peda...

@Sofy Flores https://www.proz.com/search/"bachiller".
Puede buscar aquí y ver si alguna entrada del glosario se ajusta a su contexto. Sería bueno saber para qué país es la traducción.

Primero tienes que indicar a qué país va dirigida la traducción. No existe un equivalente exacto en lo que respecta a títulos educativos, cada país tiene un sistema diferente.

Four-year undergraduate degree

Assuming the program in Peru takes four years. It could of course be "three-year". The idea is for the translator not to *evaluate* or *compare* the diploma to another educational system. Because of the differences in hours, credits, depth of curriculum and so on, we leave that to the experts. I quote here from "Educational Documents, Translation or Evaluation?" by George Fletcher. (Link below.) There are benchmarks common to most education systems throughout the world. First comes primary school, followed by secondary, followed by undergraduate education, graduate education, and upper graduate education, such as the doctorate. When we translate a secondary school diploma, a bachillerato from Colombia, for example, we will put “secondary school diploma.”

agree AllegroTrans : Correct methodology, for sure and not the translator's job to delve into "equivalents"; I would also retain the Spanish term and add an explanatory translation in square brackets

Bachelor's degree in Peru

Low confidence level, because this kind of terminology varies enormously from one country to another.
Nevertheless, if, as the question states, they're talking about the qualifications granted at the end of the University stage (al finalizar la carrera universitaria), they probably mean the difference between a bachelor's degree and a licentiate degree.

Otherwise, it might refer to a high school diploma/certificate, as proposed by José Julián.

Undergraduates usually get a degree at the end of their course, which usually last at least a few years, rather than a diploma, which usually involves a shorter course.
Maybe these things are different in Peru.

Where I come from, undergraduates receive a degree at the end of their studies. A diploma is a lesser qualification, usually with much shorter courses.

Associate degree in Peru

Associate degree: es el título que se ofrece en los institutos de educación superior o "colleges" vs. el título de la licenciatura o "bachelor´s degree". Si son de uno, dos, tres, cuatro o cinco años, inclusive, ya no es responsabilidad sino de la institución que hace la convalidación de los créditos. ¡Suerte!
Example sentence:

There are generally four categories of college degrees: associate degree, bachelor's degree, graduate degree, and doctorate or professional degree.
