Spanish term

caer en tiempo

Spanish to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
This is from an email from a Puerto Rican. I found the meaning "return to normalcy," but that doesn't seem to fit in this context. It is an answer to the question of whether he accepted an offer made by Mr. Rodríguez.

Discussion

O G V Feb 17, 2022:
Esperemos.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "The other answers were fine, but I chose this one because I think it best fits the context of thinking about something and then reaching a conclusion in time."

realise

From the context, it seems to mean 'realise' (darse cuenta):
"I could not accept anything because when I started to think about it, I realised that Mr. Rodriguez could not offer anything..."

There are several ways to express the notion; another option could be:

"I couldn't accept anything, because when I started to think about it, I CAME TO REALISE that Mr. Rodriguez could not offer anything..."

to dawn on oneself

Realization with time (dawn) as an expression. “…because upon thinking about it, it dawns on me that…”
