Japanese term

テール

Japanese to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Hi all, I have run into this term in a document describing a pharmaceutical company's entry into the generic business. Full paragraph as follows.

ジェネリックで入った後でも、患者にきちんと届ける。テールを長く続けるために、AGを考えようということでこのAGプロジェクトが立ち上がった。

What does テール refer to in this context? Is it perhaps the tail end of a drug's life cycle? Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

long-tail

What the document says is that after entering into the generic drug business, they want to keep manufacturing their original pharmaseutical products as "long tail products" instead of discontinuing them so that those who have been taking their drugs can continue to obtain them.
