Russian term for personnel \"Volunteers\"
Greetings... privyet...
(This borrowed laptop displays Russian text, but does not enable word-processing into Russian script)
Asking on behalf of a friend.
What is the current prevalent term used in Russian-language media to refer to "volunteers" when news articles discuss Russian Army military personnel who take ordinary leave and then serve as "volunteers" during regional operations, such as those in Crimea and near Ukraine?
Is the current term:
[1] Dobrovol'tstii?
[2] Dobrovol'nikii?
[3] Some other term?
"Ochen' spasibo" in advance for any helpful clarification of the corect term.
My direct e-mail address is < [email protected] >.
Today is Friday, October 23, 2015.

I missed the part of "when news articles discuss Russian Army military personnel who take ordinary leave" - this is the first meaning, the second is, for example, working for the Red Cross or charity
