Discussion

Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. Jun 10, 2014:
One can translate smile away literally or try to come up with a marketing slogan with the word smile. To smile away means to smile broadly and openly, to lose one's worries and be carefree.
George BuLah (X) Jun 9, 2014:
jeden uśmiech to, kto będzie uśmiechnięty, tatuś, mamusia, Jaś, czy Małgosia ? :)
ja bym coś, tego - żeby zabrać uśmiech - jak "take away", bo żeby nie było, jak w tej piosence Paula McCartneya ...

I was walking down the street ...
Who did I meet?
I met a friend of mine and he did say
Man, I can smell your feet a mile away
Smile away, smile away, smile away
Yeah, smile away
...
:)

uśmiechnij się od ucha do ucha/z uśmiechem i słońcem

Two slogans. The first one is almost a literal translation.
Peer comment(s):

agree George BuLah (X) : też fajne, ale - może - uśmiechAj się oudu, albo - z uśmiechem oudu, albo - z uśmiechem oudo i Słońcem ?

As long as we are all smiling with a sunny disposition. Thanks, Jacek.
agree mike23 : Good ideas. It all depends what the Asker needs. btw Don't we both miss sth in the Polish translations? 'Smile away' sounds smooth and natural unlike the Polish versions

Sometimes it seems so; at other times, it is just my inability to render the idiom properly. Thanks you, Michał. Smile away.
