Close inspection of the full particle sizes and distributions within all of the sample records confirmed the similarity of the majority of stations indicative of generalbi-modal distribution peaking around the medium sand and coarse silt fractions, with a consistent tail of silts (Figure 8); nogravel material was recorded.
Figure 9 indicates that the majority of stations sampled follow a similar trend relating to particle size distribution, with a spike in the coarse to medium sands which rapidly decreases into the fine sands.
A second spike is then witnessed between the very fine sands to coarse silt factions, which then rapidly decreases leaving a consistent tail of silts.
