borging van wetgeving

Dutch to English Law/Patents Medical: Pharmaceuticals biotechnology company
Uit een document van een biotechnologisch bedrijf over van toepassing zijnde wetgeving:

Dit document geeft een overzicht van de van toepassing zijnde wetgeving ... en hoe *borging* en beoordeling *van betreffende wetgeving* plaatsvindt.

Verderop in het document komt een tabel voor, en het kopje van één van de kolommen is '*borging* middels' de kolom bestaat vnl uit verwijzingen naar interne documenten, maar één keer wordt 'Risico Inventarisatie en Evaluatie' vermeld.

Mijn probleem is dat ik niet zeker weet wat met 'borging' bedoeld wordt:
waarborging van de naleving van de wetgeving -> compliance? of
waarborging van de implementatie van de wetgeving -> implementation?
of iets anders?

Bij voorbaat mijn dank.

compliance and implementation Just my twopence worth, but I would say that compliance implies that the applicable laws and regulations have been implemented successfully in the organisation in question .... The term 'legal assurance' (borging van wetgeving) in its turn implies that all required compliance actions have been taken.

I keep on having this 'yes, but...' feeling, which probably is a consequence of my lack of knowledge of legal talk.
I feel there is a difference between 'implementation' and 'compliance': wouldn't it be possible to implement a law and then find that nobody complies with it? That's where 'assurance' would come in, as Lianne and Michael suggested. But then again, one could assure both 'compliance' and 'implementation'.
I tried writeaway's suggestion, but found that I cannot post the Dutch->Dutch question since it is not one of my language pairs.

Borging leaves some room for interpretation here, when applied to the practical real world, as illustrated by the different answers. So I think the question is just fine for the kudoz forums.

compliance/implementation

I think it could be either, but more likely implementation as that is closer in meaning to 'borging'.
Not an easy decision though ...

Quality Assurance (QA)

Ik denk dat je QA, quality assurance, zou kunnen gebruiken, met name in de tabel.

legal assurance

Volgens mij kun je hier heel goed de vrij letterlijke vertaling 'legal assurance' gebruiken om te verwijzen naar het feit dat de compliance met de toepasselijke wetgeving ge(waar)borgd is.
Zie ook onderstaande voorbeeld en de vele andere relevante voorbeelden op internet.

Being covered by maximum legal assurance means the “certainty of acting in compliance with current legislation on certain matters”, crucial to making notifications and issuing publications, or when signing contracts - all of this electronically.
