The results of researches of the characteristics of a sound absorption of materials from a basalt fiber
producible in Ukraine. The possibilities of rise of coefficient of a sound absorption on low frequencies are
exhibited. The guidelines on maintenance of these materials in audio screens and other noiseprotection
constructions are given.
Screening sources of hum of transport trunks is effective technical solution on protection of
the population against his(its) harmful influence. The experience of application of these means shows
[1], that most wide-spread are the constructions of screens with is audio by a “transparent” front face
or sound-proof facing from porous or fibrous sound-proof materials (SPM). So, in constructions of
noiseprotection screens applied in Germany, France, Italy and other countries, in quality SPM are used
plates of mineral fibers with average coefficient of a sound absorption (CSA) not below 0,7 in a
frequency range 200 - 5000 Hz [2].
