Joint Liability - existe apenas uma obrigação e cada responsável tresponde por uma parte da obrigação.
SOLIDARY LIABILITY - existe apenas uma obrigação e cada responsável responde pela obrigação como um todo.
Só a terceira hipótese corresponde de fato ao instituto da solidariedade do direito brasileiro. Quem não é da área relamente pode ficar confundido entre obrigação conjunta e obrigação solidária, no casamento muita das obrigações são conjuntas (joint liabilities).
