German term

Dichte Probeansatz vs. Dichte Ansatz

German to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
a validation report, which features a veritable orgy of the use of the word Ansatz.
In the table of tests and analytical methods:
4. 'Dichte Ansatz' (acceptance criteria 'Dichte Probeansatz 0.001 g/ml)
5. "Dichte" (accpetance criteria 'Dichte Ansatz 0.001 g/ml).
I'm not sure if all these Ansatz refer to the 'batch', or in certain cases to 'method' or similar. For 'Probeansatz' I'm thinking 'batch samples'.
Thanks in advance for your help

specific gravity test batch vs. sprecific gravity batch

Maybe "Probeansatz" can be translated as "test batch"? But this is only slightly more than a guess...

"Die Batch-Versuche erfolgten nach VDI 4630 Nr. 5a. Dabei wurden Probeansätze von je 5 bis 20 g
Substrat (je nach TS-Gehalt) mit je 250 ml Impfschlamm in drei Parallelproben angesetzt sowie
jeweils zwei Parallelproben mit Impfschlamm (Nullversuch) und der Referenz (1g mikrokristalline
Zellulose und Impfschlamm)."

Thanks Johanna, I've come to the conclusion that the author was not carefully weighing his/her words when this was written, so we are left to 'guessing' rather than 'knowing'.

concentration of sample set

Probeansatz is most likely simply a set or batch of samples. Though it probably should read Probenansatz (see link below)

Peer comment(s):

agree Harald Moelzer (medical-translator) : "concentration of sample/test batch"
