¡Que vergüenza! Acabo de preguntarle a mi mujer y resulta que a nuestro hijo, Franco (12), le otorgaron DNI exhibiendo la partida de nacimiento en el Registro Civil correspondiente. A los ocho años se adhiere la foto al documento original.
Me preguntó cómo me estaba tratando ese señor alemán.

El tiempo pasa.. Estuve chequeando información y parece que ahora les dan el DNI con la partida de nacimiento y se actualiza a los 8 años. La página oficial no es muy clara...

agree OLMO : Salvo que la ene va en mayúscula: "No." (La forma "no." se usa poquísimas veces, y por lo general en textos informales.)

Gracias, Olmo. En cuanto a la mayúscula, creería que ambas grafías son válidas. El [#] también se usa, pero en otro contexto, claro está.

Se me ocurre que como es un documento que se expide podría emplearse "issued". Suerte!!:)

Hola Paula, yo elegiría este orden en la frase.

Te recomiendo que no uses "national" sino la nacionalidad del país. Recuerdo la clase magistral en la universidad en la que nos recomendaron esto y me parece muy acertado.
Nunca usar "nacional" sino dicha nacionalidad. Aunque leyendo el resto del texto puedan saber de qué nacionalidad se trata, así queda más claro.

Reabro este hilo antiguo para ofrecer esta opción que me parece más native-like, que surge de las fuentes citadas abajo relacionadas con los social security numbers (SSN) que se utilizan en USA.
Example sentence:

Now parents indicate on the birth certificate form whether they want a Social Security number assigned to their newborn child.

Children age 12 or older must appear in person for a mandatory interview at a Social Security office in order to have a number assigned to them.
