agree Lionel_M (X) : obtecté; it's the noun. Obtectée is adjective (not the case here). If your translate "nymphes obtectées" then is correct to accord it

Thanks Lionel, but I read this as adj. describing the noun pupae (i.e. in higher flies, the pupae are coarctate, whereas in lower flies they are obtect. Come to think of it, it should probably be fem. plural, obtectées (since pupae are plural).

Yeah, I did wonder, having never done Latin. The thing is my reference says" obtect = from Latin obtectus "covered":-) so are you right in your comment?
