continente

Are we just repeating "form" here, or is this a particular form that I am missing?

Discussion

Clayton Causey Mar 16, 2009:
Chopin's style You have to know a bit about music in general and Chopin in particular to appreciate this one. In line with aceavila - Noni's comment, it seems obvious what's being discussed here are two aspects of Chopin's work. 1) He did nothing especially out of the ordinary at the melodic level. He didn't come up with any revolutionary harmonic structures. 2) He did, though, arrange movements (larger sections) in unique and hitherto unimagined ways. The writer is suggesting that this innovation in large-scale form is one of Chopin's important contributions to music.
Noni Gilbert Riley Mar 16, 2009:
Contenido y continente Perhaps I'm being "overperceptive", but the appearance of continente so soon after contenido strikes me as more than a coincidence, and I wonder if we should make an attempt to reflect this (just to make it even more difficult!).
Laurie Price Mar 16, 2009:
metaphoric It reads to me like a metaphoric 'naming' -- for emphasis and also to call attention to the whole of what's being discussed --

No particular justification, this just seems to be the idea, as indicated by the rest of the sentence.
