These terms have received extensive attention on proz and elsewhere on the Web, but I´m not fully convinced by the common translations. A client has clarified that his responsibility with his partner is "mancomunada", meaning that both parties may be made to pay sums 50-50, as opposed to "solidaria" in which either could be made to pay 100%. I think the clearest and most exact translations would be "mancomunada" = jointly responsible and "solidaria" = severally responsible. Any expert opinions on this? Thanks.

I would not use "several liability" as such. I would change it round slightly as above.
