Most of this paragraph is giving me trouble!

A mi lado, (name) el hombre del complejo licorero Ponche Crema, que distribuye (brand) en (country), ríe. ¿Cómo es eso? indaga (name). El pluscuamperfecto del vino es un mal moderno, de los **carajitos punto com**, y los enólogos de mentirita que intentan una operación mareo del trago en la copa. Si no sientes los siete o nueve descriptores con los que le abruman, a ti, que llevas 30 años de relación con los vinos, todavía le falta, mientras que ellos ya son grandes catadores.

yeah it does... I think, for this translation, you have to get into a Joaquin Sabina mode... You know how in his lyrics he goes from one thing to another, from a metaphor to an really profound idea...

here goes my translation, with a quite liberal interpretation of "pluscuamperfecto":

The more-than-perfect knowledge of wine is a modern day illness, due to shots dot come, and the wannabe oenologists who try a "dizzy the drink" operation in their glass(es).
