Here is a little question you can all join in with. It is meant for fun but I am sure it can be educational as well...
How do YOU, personally, pronounce the name of this website?
PRO ZED? PRO ZEE? PROSE?
Or maybe you have another? (My husband calls it "That *!%#!! website!")
So interested in what everybody has to say...

Note from asker:
To Elena: Didn't you get the play on words? Pronounce and pronounce a verdict? Seems not. To Nick: Some don't think I should give points for a "Fun" question, but others do and creativity deserves credit as somebody else has said. So.... because your comment shows both wit, wisdom and creativity, guess what...you win!! |

: With emphasis on: *personally*, not pronounce, refer to. Prozodine, kudozone, etc. (and speaking for a large part of the Greek community -I think. :-))

I asked about the "Z" too and they said it was just really in at the time the company started, to end names with Z.
How are you going to grade this? ZZZZZZZZZZ

I think it is pretty ironic for a website that exists for language pros to deliberately mispell itself just to be trendy! Thanks for telling us all WHY they are called the way they are. Fashion! |

pros (as in professionals)
Hello Zhuoqi,
I say "pros".
This is taken from the Proz.com FAQ's. Please see the link below.
"2. How is "ProZ.com" pronounced?
At headquarters in New York, ProZ.com staff refer to the site as "proz-dot-com", with the 'proz' part pronounced exactly like "(written) prose" or "pros" (as in professionals). But some people say "pro-zee-dot-com", "pro-zed", "procetta", etc."
Good luck from Oso ¶:^)

Thanks. Very informative and I agree with you that if it is spelled that way it also ought to be said the way you say it. Love the headgear! |

creativity deserves a little credit too, right?
Hello my friends!
Just my opinion: I think creativity deserves a little credit too.
"Don't take life too seriously; you'll never get out of it alive".
Smile and relax, life is short! :-))
