Creo que esto puede variar según el país. Algunos conmemoran el día de su independencia, como en EEUU o, me atrevo a decir, muchos países de América Latina.
En el Reino Unido no se si existe tal festividad.
¿Podrías concretar a qué país se refiere y a qué audiencia te
diriges?

You see, if I'm not mistaken, in Spain for example the "Fiesta Nacional" was formerly October the 12th. However, the 'nationalist' concept is somewhat out and often related to times gone by - nowadays in Spain this public holiday is called "Día de la Hispanidad" and there is no longer any such thing as the "fiesta nacional" (unless of course you refer to bullfighting, which is still an extremely disputable issue...)

Asimismo, encontrarás que el día de la independencia recibe el nombre de "Albanian Flag Day".
Si consultas wikipedia, encontrarás un listado de los eventos históricos ocurridos en Albania en diferentes 28 de noviembre. Bueno, y lo dejo aquí, que te voy a volver loca con tanto comentario... :O) :O) :O)

Tienes razon pero "National Party" siempre refiere a los paritidos politicales y bank holiday/public holiday al aniversarios, fiesta y aqui en españa puentes

: http://www.info.dfat.gov.au/Info/WebProtocol/WebProtocol.nsf... Unas veces se dice 'national', otras 'independent'. "National" sería más general, valdría si no nos referimos a un país en concreto o si el término no está acuñado en inglés.
