points lever Explanation: I think this is what you are looking for. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 mins (2021-10-26 16:06:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It MAY be called a switch stand in US English, I'm not sure. It DOES seem that a 'ground throw' is a type of klotväxel. |

Hand-thrown switch Explanation: There are some specific aspects of a klotväxel that not all hand-thrown switches may have, but I don't think there is an English term specifically for that. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 mins (2021-10-26 16:09:43 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Note that "switch" is US English. "Points" in UK English. |

set of hand-operated railway lever BE: points AE: switch Explanation: Just to piggyback the other answers and with reference to model railway, narrow- and broad- or standard-gauge. Query: switch assembly in the USA and Canada. BTW, I operated these 'light-touch' levers earlier this year on a narrow-gauge rail track running right around a sprawling hospital complex. manual rail switch Explanation: It is manually operated. No special name that I can find for that type of lever with a counterweight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railroad_switch |
