Ammonium chloride

Explanation:
If you haven't found this yet...

SAOB has your terms as: "om salmiak använd i lösning (ss. slemlösande medel) mot andnöd (i samband med lungsäcks- l. lunginflammation o. d.) l. ss. luktsalt vid svimning o. d" Since this identifies 'luktsalt' as a Swedish term that corresponds to 'smelling salts,' I'm suggesting the technical term for salmiak.

SAOB also has an entry or 'eau-de-luce' so I wonder why your sentence didn't use that Swedish term -- suggesting you want something more technical.

Salmiac is used in Eng, but seems to be used in food contexts, as Wikipedia offers in a primer for us poor translators.
