So, is this simply molecule or is it something else like "formula"? The following is from Mexican regulation for oil and gas distribution and sale:
Registro de Venta de servicio a un permisionario de la Comisión.
Corresponde al registro de venta de servicio de distribución, que no incluye la comercialización de molécula, a un permisionario de la Comisión, y consiste únicamente en la recepción de gas natural en el o los puntos de inyección del sistema de distribución y la entrega de una cantidad similar al permisionario en uno o varios puntos de extracción del mismo sistema.

Natural gas includes many types, or products, such as methane, propane, butane,etc. They are all composed of only two elements, hydrogen and carbon. What distinguishes them is is the combination of C and H atoms into various chains and bondings. (see ref natural gas 101).
