"Este estudio se realiza en el Hospital Universitario, que tiene aproximadamente, un área de influencia de un millón de habitantes. Desde mayo de 2008 hasta julio 2009 fueron intervenidos 41 pacientes de cirugía tiroidea en régimen de cirugía mayor ambulatoria con ingreso hospitalario inferior a 24 horas censales. Todos los pacientes fueron operados por el mismo cirujano. Se incluye a todos los pacientes con enfermedad tiroidea susceptibles de tratamiento mediante cirugía (tiroidectomía, hemitiroidectomía, istmectomía), exceptuando las neoplasias preoperatoriamente filiadas. "
