Tengo una duda en cuanto a la traducción del término consultado en el siguiente contexto:

La categoría migratoria del joven Juan Perez, es un permiso de estudio, que brinda las facilidades necesarias para poder estudiar en el país. No así para trabajar y no otorga Residencia Definitiva. Por lo tanto, **al vencer su estadía**, no renovar la misma o haber finalizado su plan de estudios, el joven Juan Perez, debía abandonar el país.

Busqué "Upon expiration of his stay" sin embargo son pocos los vínculos que aparecen relacionados con dicha expresión.

Another option, and IMO it sounds better, although I am aware that expiration is used more in US English in this context.
