David Hollywood Sep 11, 2021:
no context no way ...
O G V Sep 11, 2021:
philgoddard Sep 11, 2021:
I think this is about a father who's not paying alimony, but yes, we need the full context. And it says "retener DE los haberes".
David Hollywood Sep 11, 2021:
welcome to Proz and please give more context otherwise impossible to help you...

Peer comment(s):

agree Adrian MM. : haberes vs. haberres: if carried out by a bank out of sums credited to pay US alimony > garnishment of wages and UK maintenance > attachment of earnings

neutral AllegroTrans : How do you know XX is a he? We need the complete sentence and asker isn't listening // it certainly is relevant as we only have a snippet of a sentence and don't even know what asker's document is

well, the asker should know whether xx is a he or a she, anyhow, I believe that is compoletely irrelevant to the question

garnish the [defendant`s/debtor`s] wages

I think this could work, but it will depend on the context. Maybe you could give us more information
Note from asker:
It really helped me. thank you so much.
