As alexx juust said this is the most popular unit of measurement for foodstuffs in Poland. At a butcher's you'll ask for 25 "dag" (pronounced deko) of ham , instead of 250 grams or a quarter of a kilo (the latter expression is used, but less popular). Hurrah! for the metric system.
