The desktop design for a PC has a main unit which houses all of the processing and storage components of the computer system. A separate screen, keyboard and mouse connect to the main unit. Peripheral [Online Link] devices such as printers and scanners are connected to the main unit.
The modular design of the main unit allows the computer system to be upgrading by adding new components.
