Dear ProZ members,

I would need a little help with the following sentence. A girl in a cartoon asks for permission to show her home library to a friend, and her big brother answers:

通れるようにちっと本、端に寄せておく

I get it as: "I'll move a bit the books to the egde, so that you can pass through".

We don't see what happens later, so there's no further context. That library is shown before, and seeing it I don't get what he means (spaces are large enough to easily enter). Do you see other possible interprepations that make more sense?

Thank you so much!

English translation:I'll move those books to the side
Explanation:
Because it's a cartoon, I'd try to grasp the meaning and write something that would sound natural to the English-speaking audience; I'll move those books to the side so they don't get in your way.

Asker: For sure I'll go for something natural, but I was wondering if I grasped the meaning correctly. Do you think the original sentence means what I wrote? Thank you!
