Italian term

Verbale di accertamento dell\'invalidita\' civile

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Hospital statements
Hi all, I was wondering if someone could help me with the "invalidita' civile." I am wondering if this could be a "legal disability", though I don't like how that sounds. I think it comes along the lines of a recognised disability by the state. Any suggestions? I have also considered omitting "civile." What do you think?

The entire heading is "verbale di accertamento dell'invalidita' civile, delle condizioni visive e della sordita'."
It is dealing with a statement/report that a doctor has given to a patient regarding their disability. I'm not at liberty to say too much more.

Certification of disability, hearing loss or blindness

This is how I would translate it. I do not believe you need the term 'civil' as it is obviously an administrative certificate. You might wait as someone more knowledgeable than I might provide a more complete answer.

Statement attesting to a disability not employment or war related

"Civil disability" means something else in English however in Italian it is a different category from war and employment disability
Note from asker:
I'm not sure we ca say "not employment" but I like the start very much

Civile is not a word to be omitted, as you can see from this definition.
Sorry I cannot give you the EN equivalent.

NB "legal" and "civil" disability have a different meaning to what you are looking for as the equivalent of "disabilita' civile".

neutral writeaway : why do you think that 'civile' cannot be omitted/has to be translated literally?

L’invalidità si definisce civile quando non deriva da cause di servizio, di guerra o di lavoro. L’accertamento per invalidità civile non va confuso con quello per invalidità lavorativa. L’invalidità civile è riconosciuta indipendentemente dello svolgimen

We've had this a couple of times before

I agree with the answer here, "legal disability". You could also say "statutory".
