Italian term or phrase: modellata a lucignolo
“Il lavoro”, scultura composita a piani sovrapposti modellata a lucignolo / maiolica a lustro / h. cm 49 x 27 x 25 / Non firmata

This phrase appears repeatedly in a text on Faenza majolica. It seems to be a technique and I've found it untranslated and so thought of simply lucignolo modelled but any ideas much appreciated.

neutral  Lara Barnett: What kind of wick? Unfortunately this answer is a bit open-ended IMO, and could mean anything without further explanation.
