Der Deutsch Kurzhaar (engl. German Shorthaired Pointer) ist ein vielseitiger Jäger und ein treuer Familienhund. Er kann als Pointer und Retriever an Land und zu Wasser eingesetzt werden. Sein Deckhaar ist kurz und glatt und er besitzt eine dichte Unterwolle. Es gibt ihn in Liver (dunkler Braunton), Schwarz, Liver und Weiß, Schwarz und Weiß mit Roan (Stichelhaaren). Der Deutsch Kurzhaar ist ein intelligenter, mutiger und anhänglicher Begleiter. Er ist kooperativ und leicht zu trainieren. Er braucht viel Bewegung und möchte auch geistig beschäftigt werden, z.B. durch Spiele.
