German term

außen

German to English Tech/Engineering Printing & Publishing
Pinolen nicht in Endlage außen

Should this be translated as:

Center shafts not in external limit posiiton (end position)

or

Center shafts not in limit position external

Does the use of außen at the end function as an adjective and modify the word limit position?

outward

To me this clearer than "external" end position. I've also posted a good example of the same term being used for buffer valves that have "inward" and "outward" positions.
NOTE: I'm seeing "spindle sleeve" being used most often for "Pinole"
Example sentence:

between a first inward end position covering the discharge ports and a second outward end position uncovering the discharge , a stop member limiting the outward movement of the annular piston...
