He's a character in Boccaccio's Decameron (Day II, story 5). Does anyone know how the name is usually written in English - or, for that matter, in Italian - because I don't imagine it has the umlaut in either language.

Von ihm erschien weiter eine zweite Schwanksammlung, den “Ander teil der Gartengesellschaft”, Einzelausgaben von drei weiteren Novellen aus dem Decameron Boccaccios (Thedaldus und Ermilina, Guiscardus und Sigismunda, Cymon und Iphigenia) in der Art des “Andreützo”, ein Gedicht von untereuen Wirten und drei Dramen, denen wieder Erzählungen von Boccaccio zu Grunde lagen.

Matheus de Perusio (d.c.1418), also known as Matteo da Perugia, was long regarded as one of the premier composers of the late Ars Subtilior song.
