German term

at-Komplexes

German to English Science Medical: Health Care optical activity - Enantiomers
Die saure Zersetzung des optisch aktiven **at-Komplexes** 5, der die enorm hohe spezifische Drehung aufweise, ergibt optisch inaktives "compound name".

I wonder if it simply means "of the complex 5", or am I comletely off track here..

Thank you.

Discussion

Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Sep 11, 2005:
Most welcome, Doctor. The suffix ate indicates are relatively higher valency of the atom. For instance NO3^- is nitrate (N oxidation state = 5) while NO2^- is nitrite (N oxidation state = 3).

Thanks again!
