From a radiological medical report:
"Ausgeprägte Osteochondrose L6/S1 ohne Nachweis einer Spondylolisthesis. Hyperlordose im unteren
Anteil der LWS und Sacrum arcuatum."
According to de.wikipedia, "Als Sacrum arcuatum wird ein besonders stark gebogenes Kreuzbein bezeichnet." (i.e. hyperkyphosis), but I have seen other interpretations, e.g. 'horizontal sacrum'.
Please advise.

According to de.wikipedia, "Als Sacrum arcuatum wird ein besonders stark gebogenes Kreuzbein bezeichnet." (i.e. hyperkyphosis), but I have seen other interpretations, e.g. 'horizontal sacrum'.

Ich bin überzeugt (auch nach fünf Jahren in der Radiologie), dass das Sacrum arcuatum einmal wieder eine typisch deutsche Überbetonung einer Normvariante mit Reminiszenz an eigenständige Krankheitsentität ist. Dasselbe gilt für das Sacrum acutum, das - wie Susanne richtig sagte - von Ersterem zu unterscheiden ist.
Folgerichtig gibt es auch keine angelsächsische 1:1-Übersetzung, sodass letztlich nur eine rein deskriptive Terminologie weiterhilft.

'Sacrum acutum' würde man dann wohl mit "increased sacral *angulation*" übersetzen. Dies nur am Rande...
