@ Textklick: In the real sense of the word "market", I agree, it is an area in which commercial dealings are concluded. When you say market-share, it implies the portion of the market (usually interpreted to mean country / countries) controlled by a particular company or product.
I am using "economy" in a broader sense which will include many such "markets" and that is what any leading manufacturer of "mobiles" will target. So, I am not very sure "generic market" is implied here.
I have also seen several reports where "market" and "economy" being used interchangeably, and I am not justifying my answer on this basis. I may also be wrong in my interpretation.
