drag leash
also field leash or drag line.
A drag leash is a specific kind of dog leash used in dog training; it typically has no handle loop (keine Handschlaufe) so that dog feet do not become tangled in it and so that the handle does not snag. Shorter drag leashes are used in the home for puppy training (owner can make his/her own by removing hand loop from old leash). Drag leashes for field training are often longer and used for correction and control. Nylon, cotton (see German Yatego web references) and leather (see US Leerburg reference) versions are available. A retractable (Flexleine) leash has a housing at its end; if it falls to or is placed on the ground it tends to bounce around behind the dog and snag on objects; therefore, it is not a good choice for a drag leash.

(retractable) dog leash
. Most of the designs either employed rubber/medical tubing or a retractable dog leash as the tow rope. I chose to use the dog leash, ...

Info
