build up / increase of capital stock

In general "build up" could be a variation.
Aufstockung, has something to with "stock".
"Accumulation" is another near synonym that might serve.
But if it concerns a company then "increase of capital stock" is the only correct choice.

But what's the context? If it's "capital", then "increase" is your only choice.

growth, buildup, rise, upsurge, boost, etc.

Without context, "aptness" is a lost cause. Since you have the context, you are in a better position to select from the following:

growth, buildup, escalation, rise, upsurge, upswing, upturn, jump, boost, hike, etc.
